The Tribes seek volunteers to help with fish salvage efforts on restoration project this July and August.

The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs John Day Basin Office is seeking as many volunteers as possible to assist with fish salvage efforts during the Middle Fork John Day River – Vincent to Vinegar restoration project, near Bates, Oregon, happening this summer. Salvage efforts will occur between July 15th and August 15th. Due to the uncertainty of when construction crews will be on the ground to dewater the stream, we are still developing a set schedule of days those individuals will be needed. However, we are compiling a list of individuals and agencies that would be willing to assist and will create a listserv to disseminate information as soon as it becomes available. We have divided the in-stream work window into ~1-week blocks and will provide weekly scheduling updates as they develop. If interested, please fill out the attached form and indicate the salvage blocks for which you are available. We would greatly appreciate any assistance and look forward to hearing from you all.

No experience needed! Tasks include: netting fish (waders required), data recording, transporting buckets of fish, and fish release into new channels.

Interested volunteers please fill out the Volunteer Questionnaire
